Today was Mason's blessing day. It was such a great day and we were happy to have our family with us. Sal gave Mason the most amazing blessing. As he started the blessing he paused for a REALLY long time before he gave him his name. I was so worried that he would name him Fui, which is what Sal sometimes calls Mason. Whew, Sal got the name right!!
In the old days, blessings would be taped, but I guess we aren't allowed to do that anymore or people just choose not to do it. I think it is important to remember blessings like these so as Sal was blessing Mason, I was writing all that he said. Here are some of the things Sal blessed Mason with. Sal blessed Mason that he would be a strong member of the Church and that he would grow and progress in the Gospel and have the Holy Ghost to guide him. He said that Mason had a strong family who love him very much and he will be an example to us. Sal blessed him that he will be a good student in school and Mason will respect his teacher both in Church and at school. Mason was blessed with aunts, uncles and cousins who will be a part of his life and they love him too. Sal blessed Mason to make good friends and honor them with your friendship as well. Mason will be blessed to be a good husband and father and Sal blessed him that he will love them with all of his heart. Mason will serve an honorable mission and will spread the Gospel and he will share his testimony of the Gospel with others. Sal closed by telling Mason how grateful we are to have him and he has brought so much joy and love into our home.
Sal gives amazing blessings. They are always from the heart and he speaks as if he is truly talking to his Father in Heaven. I am thankful that he has the authority to bless each one of our kids.
We truly are blessed to have Mason as part of our family. Olivia says it best when she says, "Mom, we will have Mason FOREVER." She already understands that we will be a family forever.
